Apart from my main job as a professional photographer I have also been tour guiding sporadically since my mid-twenties. For me, working with people either, behind a camera or showing them things to see and do in Dunedin, is really rewarding. I have a passion for Dunedin landscapes and historic buildings, so a chance to share the best Dunedin attractions with visitors either on private tours or via a day tour off a visiting cruise ship, is a lot of fun.
I am stoked to be working with a local Dunedin tour company called Rams Bottom Tours. We are a fun team of locals, all close friends, who are dedicated to showing guests a vibrant and entertaining Dunedin sightseeing experience. I dislike tours where the guide just talks at you while you sit in silence, that’s all a bit dull I reckon. I like tours where the guests can chat and interact with me (the guide) and we all get to know each other. That is a recipie for a good day out.
Now if you fancy yourself as a bit of a food lover and enjoy a glass of something strong, then boy do I have the tour for you. The team at Rams Bottom Tours have refined a fantastic day tour for cruise ship visitors or independent travellers to enjoy. You will get to sample local gins and craft beers from the Saddle Hill brewery and distillery. Just getting there is a fun adventure with great rural views.
For lunch we stop at The Black Sheep Restaurant and Bar (Like how we are keeping the sheep theme going.. Rams Bottom Tours & Black Sheep, love it!) and this eatery also takes us to the quintessentially kiwi small town of Mosgiel. Mosgiel has a charm all of it’s own.
After lunch we head back into Dunedin city and enjoy some of the best things to do in Dunedin, like climbing the World’s Steepest Street, Baldwin Street.
The main thing is while you are having a Dunedin day tour, you are enjoying yourself and are getting to know me and your fellow guests. You are an active part of the day, and have as much to give as your host. If this sounds like your kind of day tour then please investigate more over at Rams Bottom Tours website.
